NHCA’s Community Shed Project

Project Overview

NHCA’s community sheds are storage spaces that are used to store various supplies for our events, programs and committees. Over the years, these sheds often face weather damaged but suffer from one main issue: vandalism. The NHCA’s Shed Project aims to beautify these sheds through the installation of murals and shed wraps, as studies show that multi-colored designs or murals can play a role in decreasing graffiti and overall crime rates. This project is an amazing opportunity for residents of all ages as we will be utilizing resident feedback and community engagement throughout all stages – from top to bottom.

As we progress through this project we hope to engage the community creatively, foster participation among our residents and create a more resilient North Calgary. Currently, we are engaging with our community volunteers and residents in preparation for the beautification of the Country Hills Equipment Shed.

The sheds are located throughout the Northern Hills but are only accessible by NHCA staff and committees. You can find them at:

  • Country Hills Park
  • Harvest Hills Hub
  • Harvest Hills Community Gardens
  • Coventry Hills Community Gardens
  • Coventry Hills Basketball/Ice Rink
