Are you a youth artist in the community?
Do you have a passion for art and crafts (painting, sculpture, photography, 3D, 2D, and all kinds of crafting)?
Would you like to have the opportunity to showcase your art to the people of your community and get recognized for your talent?
Want to just learn from other youth artists?
Everyone can participate!
In this unprecedented time of COVID-19, kids and young adults have faced lots of uncertainty and variability. The purpose of this program is for kids and young adults to feel that they have something important to contribute. Through this program, they have a platform through arts to express themselves.
- MyArt is for Youth Artists and Friends in the Northern Hills communities who have a passion for art and crafts.
- MyArt offers an opportunity to show youth’s artwork to the community and offers recognition for their talent!
- MyArt lets youth see what other youth artists are creating in the community and learn from them!
- Everyone ages 5-15 can participate in MyArt. You don’t have to be Van Gogh – If you love art, we want to hear from you!
This program will run from November 3 until December 30 and will occur twice a week on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 pm. The important components of this program are as follows:
• Every week the program runs for 1 hour.
• Program is run through the Teams meeting platform.
• Each child is selected to demonstrate their art.
• This child is the ‘artist of the week.’
• The goal is that the child gets to show his/her art, perhaps engaging the audience in how they can show how it was done, steps involved through ‘ work in progress pictures. An art piece can be 3 dimensional as well. If it’s 2D or 3D and follows a ‘theme’, that’s the theme for that week.
This program runs on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6-7 pm from Nov 3 until Dec 30, 2021.
Here is what you need to do!
- Start by filling out the sign-up form.
- You will be required to have an active NHCA membership to participate. To buy or renew a membership, click here!
- You will be invited/ contacted by the Project Facilitator to go over details of your participation. Each youth will require adult permission and a computer.
- You will be given detailed steps to follow along with a demo.
- Once confirmed, you will do a ‘live session’ (1-hr long) demonstrating your art project/ art work to the invited community members.
- You will be showcased as the ‘artist of the week’
Artist Presenters get to do a little bit more!
○ The Artist Presenter will have a one-on-one online meeting with the MyArt Program Facilitator where they will be given detailed presentation steps to follow and a chance to try it out, so they can feel at ease about their special role.
○ The Artist Presenter will demonstrate their art or craft to invited youth in the community during a ‘live video session’!
○ Artist Presenters will be showcased in community communications and be given a certificate of recognition from the NHCA!
