Come Roam the Hills and CREATE!
There are two locations that need your personal touch! We ask community members to add to these sites to help make this a real community art project. See below to find out how you can participate!
Yarn Hearts
Located on the chain link fence surrounding the Coventry Hills community garden, we invite you to add your own yarn heart!
Bring your own yarn (solid coloured acrylic yarn is suggested) and choose a spot on the fence. Wrap the yarn around the links as shown below and tie it off! Make as many yarn hearts as you want!
Please only make hearts of this size on the fence. You may use any part of the garden fence. You are welcome to add hearts elsewhere in the community as well IF you have permission from the owner of the fence.
Joy Stones
Located in the center planter at the Harvest Hills community garden, we invite you to add your own joy stone!
Paint a stone with a joyful message or a fun image or just with beautiful colours or patterns. Be sure you wash the stone first so there’s no dust or dirt. We suggest suggest using acrylic craft paint and sealing it with outdoor mod podge or a clear spray paint. Make as many joy stones as you want! See below for examples.
If you don’t have a stone of your own you are welcome to borrow one of the plain ones in the planter to take home and paint. Please only place rocks in the center planter as there are bulbs and seeds overwintering in the other planters.
