President’s Message
As I mentioned in December, we have made a lot of changes here at the NHCA. One big change is that our office is now fully virtual. To save on rental costs and utilities, we have left our office at Vivo behind, and now all our staff and board of directors are working from home. If you require assistance with registration or information, our wonderful Executive Director, Melissa, can help you at info@nhca.ca. She also can give information via text message with this number: 403-226-6422.
We have no events upcoming in January, but as an organisation we will be doing some yearly and strategic planning, and looking for upcoming grants to help us in delivering our programming for the year. We are also working with a local business to revamp our website, so look for changes in upcoming months – we hope it will be much easier to access the information you’re looking for!
In case you didn’t know, community associations receive no guaranteed financing – all our budgetary needs must be met through sales of memberships, fees for programming, and primarily grants. You can help! Please purchase an annual membership for your household. A yearly membership is just $30 per household – that’s $2.50 per month, less than one fancy coffee. It truly makes a difference.
As always, we wouldn’t be able to do anything without the dedication of our volunteers. If you have a passion, are looking for real world job experience, or have extra time to dedicate to your community, we would love to have you! Please reach out to join our volunteer team.
